1940's Radio Hour

1940's Radio Hour

Friday November 26 through Sunday December 19, 1999
CIRCLE BAR B PRESENTED

1940's RADIO HOUR

A PLAY BY Walton Jones, directed by Susie Couch

Travel back to December 21, 1942, and sit in on a live broadcast of a musical variety show from the Hotel Astor's famous Algonquin Room, featuring the Mutual Manhattan Variety Cavalcade.

.....It's a different time and a different kind of entertainment. Pop songs are "Chattanooga Choo-Choo" and "Boogie-Woogie Bugle Boy of Company C." The world is at war, and a harassed producer puts up with a lead singer who shows up drunk, a delivery boy who wants a break, a backup singer who wants to do ballads, and a sound effects man who prefers fighter planes to Glenn Miller. All interspersed with song, dance, and hilarious commercials. A winning and marvelously theatrical show!

TIMES: Thursday, Fridays, Saturdays 8:00 P.M., Sundays 2:00 P.M.
TICKETS: Students $11.00, Seniors and groups $14.00, General $16.00
